Prince George, VA – Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) has awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting to Prince George County for its annual comprehensive financial report for the fiscal year ended June 30, 2021. The achievement highlights the commitment to clearly communicate and disclose the county’s financial records to its residents. The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in the area of governmental accounting and financial reporting. The attainment of this award represents a significant accomplishment for Prince George County and its finance team.

Betsy Drewry, Deputy County Administrator for Finance, stated, “this is the eighteenth year that the County has received this award, and it is my honor to assist in continuing the tradition.  The award is a credit to the Board and the entire County leadership team as they support good fiscal management and adherence to established financial policies.  We value the assistance of Robinson, Farmer, Cox Associates, our contracted audit firm, in the completion of our Annual Comprehensive Financial Report.”
