Holiday Schedule
CLOSED: 12 Noon News Year's Eve, New Year's Day, Easter Sunday, Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, Thanksgiving Day, 12 Noon Christmas Eve and Christmas Day


User Fees:
Household Waste:  Any resident of Prince George County may dispose of household refuse in the containers at the convenience station for a fee when presenting identification establishing him or her as a resident of the County.

  • Recycling  - NO CHARGE 
  • All other trash and debris will be weighed and charged 6 Cents per pound (rounded to the nearest dollar)
  • Minimum charge $3.00
  • Televisions - $25.00 each
  • Tires - $5.00 / $10.00 each (Varies per size)
  • Items containing Freon - $15.00 each
  • Mattress & Box Spring - $30.00 each
  • Farm Implement tires, Tractor Tires and Commercial Tires have an additional charge. For prices call 804-733-2795
  • Yard waste (limbs, leaves, grass, etc.) & metals are recyclable but will be charged at the 6-cents per pound charge.

The Center is accepting the following in the expanded Recycling Area:

  • Used Motor Oil Only (No Cooking Oil)
  • Electronics
  • Fluorescent Bulbs
  • Glass / Plastics
  • Paper
  • Textiles (clothes/shoes)

In the event the scale becomes (temporarily) inoperable,  Meridian Waste will apply the BAG/BULK price schedule.

Disposing of Items:
Disposing of Household Hazardous Waste-
Disposal of Household Hazardous items to include, oil based paints, pesticides (insecticides, herbicides, fungicides, rodent baits, including weed & feed fertilizers), paint thinners and solvents, unwanted fuels (gasoline, kerosene), unwanted household cleaners (oven, drain and floor), chemistry sets, photographic chemicals and brake fluids must be disposed of by a professional hazardous waste disposal company. Medications Disposal-
The Community Policing Division of the Prince George Police Department sponsors a “Prescription Drug Take Back Day” twice per year.  These events will occur in the Spring and Fall. County Residents can safely dispose of any unused or expired Prescription Medications during the hours of 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. on a designated Saturday date. Dates and Collection Sites will be determined by the Community Policing Division. Paint Disposal-
Latex paint can be allowed to dry/harden and then placed with normal household trash for disposal.
Oil based paint must be disposed of by a professional hazardous waste disposal company.
