Permit Application Requirements

Any applicant may request to have the permit application reviewed under the 2018 VUSBC code edition until January 18, 2025.
This request must be indicated on the application at the time of submission.

See code excerpt below from 2021 VUSBC section 103.2:

Construction for which a permit application is submitted to the local building department on or after the effective date of the 2021 edition of the code shall comply with the provisions of this code, except for permit applications submitted during a 1-year period beginning on the effective date of the 2021 edition of the code.
