Personnel
Prince George County has 35 full-time personnel, five Volunteer Fire Companies, a system volunteer program and an Administrative Office. The men and women who make up the organization work hand-in-hand with several other agencies to make Prince George a safe place to live, learn, work, and raise a family.
Services
We provide an All-Hazards response system to include Fire Suppression, Emergency Medical Services, Fire Safety and Public Education, Emergency Management, Hazardous Materials Response, and Technical Rescue.
With a population of over 42,880 Prince George County spans over 282 square miles of suburban and rural terrain. 17 Miles of the James river and 10 miles of the Appomattox river border Prince George County. We are bordered by the cities of Hopewell, Petersburg, Colonial Heights, Army base Fort Greg-Adams, the Counties of Sussex, Surry, Dinwiddie, and Chesterfield. Each year, Prince George Fire, EMS, and Emergency Management responders answer over 5100 calls for service.
