Youth Sports Leagues


Welcome to the Youth Recreation Sports League information page.  Below you will find information related to leagues that the Parks and Recreation Department offers for Summer - Fall 2024.

Registration is required for each league.  A parent or legal guardian must register the youth at the Recreation Office.  A birth certificate is required for first time sign ups.

A player may move up one age group in soccer, basketball, or baseball/softball if they are within one year’s age of the cutoff for that division.  They may only move up if they have participated for at least one year in their listed age division and with the consent of the Recreation Department. Players may NOT move up from any 4 year old leagues.  

Due to the overlapping playing schedules in Spring of baseball/softball and soccer, AND in Fall of football/cheer and soccer, participants may only sign up for ONE activity for each season (ONE activity in Spring AND ONE activity in Fall).

The Registration Fee for Youth Sports per League (excluding football and cheer, which has additional uniform fees) is $30.00 for 1-child; $50 for 2-children; $70.00 for 3-children; and an additional $10 for every child beyond 3 within the same family (unless otherwise specified).  

Football/Cheer registrants will be responsible for purchasing jersey and game pants for football, or a cheerleading package, available through Parks & Recreation Office. Pricing for Football and Cheer will vary per registrant and league, and depending on previous participation and uniform needs.  All payments for required uniform fees shall be rendered by specified (to be determined) deadline, or registration fee will be refunded, and the child will be unable to participate in the current season. 

The Registration Fee for Football and Cheer has been adjusted to include a uniform fee. The uniform fee includes football jersey and football pants (for football participants), and cheer top and skirt, as well as cheer crop and bloomer (for cheer participants).  All participants will keep the uniforms at the end of the season.  The only items that are to be returned at the end of season are helmets and shoulder pads.

All football and cheer participants will be required to obtain a Child ID card from Virginia DMV prior to the start of the season, to participate, per CQL/CCL rules.  Other ID cards, such as a military ID, will not be accepted; only Child ID cards issued by Virginia DMV.  For more information regarding VA DMV Child ID Card click here

Flag Football 5 - 7 May 6 -31, 2024

Flag Football (Boys and Girls aged 5 - 7).   

Participants must be 5 years of age and cannot have reached 58years of age on or before August 1, 2024.

Minor Division Tackle Football 8 & 9 May 6 - 31, 2024 Minor Tackle Football ( Boys and Girls aged 8 & 9).  

Participants must be 8 years of age and cannot have reached 10 years of age on or before August 1, 2024.

Junior Division Tackle
Football
10 & 11  May 6 -31, 2024 Junior Tackle Football (Boys and Girls aged 10 & 11).  

Participants must be 10 years old and cannot have reached 12 years of age on or before August 1, 2024.

Senior Division Tackle Football 12 - 14 May 6 - 31, 2024 Senior Tackle Football (Boys and Girls aged 12 - 14).  Only FOUR positions available for 14 year olds, and they MUST weight LESS than 150 pounds.

Participants must be 12 years old and cannot have reached 15 years of age on or before August 1, 2024.

Participants must be 5 years of age and cannot have reached 8 years of age on or before September 30, 2024.

Minor Division Cheer 8 & 9 May 6 - 31, 2024 Minor Tackle Cheer ( Ages 8 & 9).  

Participants must be 8 years of age and cannot have reached 10 years of age on or before September 30, 2024.

Junior Division Cheer 10 & 11  May 6 - 31, 2024 Junior Tackle Cheer (Ages 10 & 11).  

Participants must be 10 years old and cannot have reached 12 years of age on or before September 30, 2024.

Senior Division Cheer 12 - 14 May 6 - 31 2024 Senior Tackle Cheer (Ages 12 - 14).  

Participants must be 12 years old and cannot have reached 15 years of age on or before September 30, 2024.

Participants must be 4 years of age and cannot have reached 5 years of age on or before December 31, 2024.

Pee Wee
5 & 6 June 3 - 28, 2024 Pee Wee Soccer ( Boys and Girls aged 5 & 6).  All teams are Co-Ed.

Participants must be 5 years of age and cannot have reached 7 years of age on or before December 31, 2024.

Fall Soccer -
Junior
7 & 8  June 3 - 28, 2024 Junior Soccer (Boys and Girls aged 7 & 8).  All teams are Co-Ed.

Participants must be 7 years old and cannot have reached 9 years of age on or before December 31, 2024.

Fall Soccer -
Senior
9 - 11 June 3 - 28, 2024 Senior Soccer (Boys and Girls aged 9 - 11).  All teams are Co-Ed.

Participants must be 9 years old and cannot have reached 12 years of age on or before December 31, 2024.

Fall Soccer -
U14 Travel
12 & 13 June 3 - 28, 2024 U14 Travel Soccer (Boys and Girls aged 12 & 13).   All teams are Co-Ed.

This is a travel league.

Participants must be 12 years old and cannot have reached 14 years of age on or before December 31, 2024.

U18 Travel
14 - 18 June 3 - 28, 2024 U18 Travel Soccer (Boys and Girls aged 14 - 18).  All teams are Co-Ed.

This is a travel league.

Participants must be 14 years old and cannot have reached 19 years of age on or before December 31, 2024.
