All dogs four months old or older that resides in the County must be licensed.  A county dog license runs from January 1 to December 31, inclusive, and can be purchased at the Treasurer's Office or Animal Service Adoption Center.  All licenses must be purchased by February 1 of each year. Three year tags are now available in additions to the one year tags.  The owner must show each dog's rabies certificate that has been signed by a licensed veterinarian.

The fees are as follows:

  • dog picMale or Female Dog that has not been spayed/neutered:  $10.00
  • Male or Female Dog that has been successfully 
    spayed/neutered:  $5.00
  • Kennel of 5-20 dogs:  $30.00
  • Kennel of 21-50 dogs:  $50.00
  • Duplicate Dog License:  $2.00

No license shall be required for any dog that is trained and serves as a guide dog for a blind person, that is trained and serves as a hearing dog for a deaf or hearing impaired person or that is trained and serves as a service dog for a mobility-impaired person.  A service dog is still required to have a license.  Please bring proof that the dog is a service dog and the County will issue a license for the dog.
