Introduction to Pickleball Course

Prince George Parks and Recreation is offering an Introduction to Pickleball Course. Instruction will be provided on knowledge, rules, and basic fundamentals of Pickleball. The lead instructor is Larry Heidorn; there will be other instructors on site.

The Pickleball Course will occur Wednesday evenings from 5:30 PM until dusk, (every six weeks for Adult Courses) at Temple Park Pickleball Courts (14307 Prince George Dr., Disputanta, VA 23842).  Pickleballs and paddles will be provided during instruction. Participants should wear comfortable clothing and athletic shoes/sneakers.

Adult (Ages 16 – Adult) courses will be held July 31 – September 4, 2024 (Register July 1 - 29 (or full); and September 11 – October 16, 2024 (Register August 12 - September 9 (or full).  Pre-registration is required.  The fee is $10 per participant.  You may register in person at Parks and Recreation office Monday – Friday from 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM or on-line here

Pickleball is the fastest growing sport in the world.  Pickleball is easy to learn, and fun for all ages.  It combines many elements of tennis, badminton, and ping pong.  It is played on a badminton sized court with a slightly modified tennis net.

The indoor Pickleball courts are located at Central Wellness Center (11023 Prince George Drive, Disputanta, VA  23842).  The indoor Pickleball courts are open weekly from 9 AM - 12 PM on Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday.  For a limited time, bonus hours of 5:30 PM - 8:30 PM have been added for indoor Pickleball on Tuesday evenings. 

The outdoor Pickleball courts are located at Temple Park (14307 Prince George Dr., Disputanta, VA  23842).  The outdoor Pickleball courts are open daily from dawn until dusk.

Participants must be 15 years of age or older to participate.  Children who are 15 years of age must be accompanied by a parent.
