WELCOME TO THE
PRINCE GEORGE COUNTY POLICE DEPARTMENT
Located at 6600 Courthouse Road, the Prince George County Police Department is a progressive, mid-sized law enforcement agency. On July 1st 1995, the Police Department officially separated from the Sheriff’s Office and became the primary law enforcement department for the County. Prince George County is one of only nine counties in Virginia that have a Sheriff’s Office and a Police Department.
The diversified staff includes 60 sworn law enforcement officers, 8 volunteer Auxiliary Officers, 3 Animal Services Officers, 17 Communications Officers and 7 civilian support personnel. There are 3 volunteer Police Chaplains from within the County who are available to assist the Department at any time of the day, seven days a week. The Department takes great pride in our community relationships and our proactive, problem solving approach to duty. The Police Department is organized into two service units: The Field Operations Division and the Support Services Division.
