Cooling Stations

Cooling Stations

During times of extreme heat, it is important for residents to stay safe and cool. That is why Prince George County has designated public libraries as cooling stations when the heat index reaches above 100 degrees Fahrenheit.

Residents are welcome to visit their local library during operating hours to escape the heat. Complimentary water will be provided to help residents stay hydrated.

By utilizing these cooling stations, residents can protect themselves from heat-related illnesses and find relief during sweltering temperatures.

It's Cool to Read.

We encourage our residents to take advantage of these cooling stations. It is also important to care for our neighbors during extreme weather by checking on the elderly, disabled, or ill individuals, and never leaving a child or pet in a hot vehicle.
