Last year, over 700 domestic animals were taken into the Shelter through animals at large, owner surrenders, and transfers from other organizations. Many of these animals were adopted or returned to their owners. Others were transferred to other humane organizations. We have maintained a live release rate that is above the national average thanks to community relations, social media presence, and adoption events. Our mission is not possible without our amazing volunteers.
Volunteers at PGAS help the staff with a variety of tasks including dog walking, cat socializing, pet grooming, and photography. All of our volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, be fingerprinted by the county, and be clear of any animal related charges. To start the volunteer process please fill out the application (click here) and return it to the shelter or email it to email@example.com. Once your application has been received, the volunteer coordinator will contact you about the next step.
