Animal cruelty is a criminal offense.
It is the duty of each owner to provide for each pet or agricultural animal:
- Adequate food and water.
- Adequate shelter. Outside dogs must be provided a dog house.
- Adequate space in the animal's enclosure for the type and size of the animal.
- Veterinary care when it is needed and to prevent suffering.
- Humane care and treatment.
