The Fort Lee Good Neighbor award is given annually to community members who have contributed significantly to the support of Fort Lee and our military. This award honors and pays tribute to individuals who have enhanced the quality of life for Soldiers and their Families.

Nominations were submitted from major commands, tenant organizations and key community leaders to identify those deserving of Fort Lee’s highest honor. Nominations went through a Fort Lee leader selection board and were then submitted to Major General Simerly who approved all nominations.

Dr. Pennycuff and Mr. Maclin were presented this prestigious award on August 11, 2022, at the Civilian Military Council Meeting and Luncheon held on Fort Lee.  The Commanding General also invited all of this year’s recipients to additional ceremonial events throughout the year in which they will take part with the Commanding General.
