Updated Release - Police Investigating Shooting

On January 1, 2022, at approximately 12:30 am, Prince George County police officers responded to the 8600 block of Ellis Road, Spring Grove in reference to a shooting at a New Year, outdoor, bonfire party.  

Upon arrival, police witnessed two gunshot victims laying on a grass field.  Tramaz Tynes, 20 years of age, resident of Surry County VA, was pronounced deceased on scene.  The second gunshot victim, Devon Clanton, 22 years of age, resident of Dinwiddie County VA, was transported to VCU Medical Center where he later died as a result of his injuries.    

The crowd size at this event was estimated to have been over 200 attendees.  People were quickly dispersing from the scene as officers were arriving.  Police are confident that these shootings were witnessed by people in attendance.
