Prince George County Water Leak Under Control; Boiled Water Advisory is in Effect

Prince George County Utility workers have identified the area of the water leak that drained almost two water tanks Thursday and caused government offices to close.

Utilities Director Frank Haltom said that (water) pressure has been restored except to areas around the former Rolls-Royce plant and businesses along Hardware Drive.

A Boiled Water Advisory is in effect as a result of the water outage.  Customers on the Prince George County Utility System are asked to boil water before drinking until samples can be tested and confirmed.  This could take through the weekend.

County Government Offices will reopen Friday as normal.  In-Person voting in the Registrar’s Office will also resume.  School openings were unknown as of 4:30 p.m. this afternoon for those on the public water system.
