Help Needed for Afghan Refugees at Fort Lee – Roughly 70% of the SIV (special immigrant visa) Afghan refugees coming to Ft. Lee have families with young children and will need clothing and toiletries. The Senior Command Chaplain, COL Thomas Allen, is the POC for collecting donations from local charities (thomas.e.allen104.mil@army.mil).

If you receive this list, please pass it along to any and every one that you have already shared it with. This is list is updated daily and we need to make sure that we manage the gifts of faithful people by letting you know what we still need. An old list floating around may not be helpful.
We are in urgent need of all types of SUMMER clothing for babies, children, boys and girls and all adults. Think families when you consider what we need.
We have been asked not to receive clothing bought from Goodwill or Thrift stores. This is the very first set of clothing these guests will receive in American and we want to welcome them properly. We also ask for conservative clothing with no logos or inappropriate language. Lightly used clothes are welcomed. Here is what we need:

Personal Items - Travel size is best!
This includes everything from baby shampoo (critical need), hand sanitizer, deodorant, toothpaste, mouth wash, lotion and any items you would need to travel. If you are providing personal hygiene items, please NO large items.
To deliver items collected, please bring them to the Sisisky Gate Visitor Center with Driver License ID.
