Local COVID-19 Vaccination Call Center Open for Business

PRINCE GEORGE, VA - In an effort to increase the capacity of the Crater Health District to place residents on the district’s COVID-19 Vaccine Waiting List, localities of the Crater Health District have opened local COVID-19 Vaccination Call Centers.

Prince George County’s Call Center opened at 9:30 am on Wednesday, February 10, 2021.  On the first day of operation, call center staff received 1,485 calls, including 912 voicemail messages.

County Administrator, Percy Ashcraft stated, “I am very pleased with the organization of our Call Center and the dedication of our staff in handling the high volume of calls.  We understand how important this task is and the number of lives we are affecting in a positive way.”

Prince George County’s COVID-19 Call Center may be reached at 804-722-8799.  The center operates Monday through Friday from 9:30 am – 5:00 pm, excluding all state holidays.  Messages received after hours will be returned as quickly as possible.

It is important to note that the call center provides assistance in adding callers to the COVID-19 vaccination waiting list.  The Virginia Department of Health will contact individuals on the waiting list to schedule an appointment to receive the vaccine when they are eligible to do so, and there are vaccines available.
