Outside Fall Sports Canceled
For PG Parks & Recreation 

          Following the same path as spring when the coronavirus pandemic canceled all outside sports programs, Prince George County officials have decided to cancel all Parks & Recreation outside sports programs this fall.

            “The health & welfare of our citizens is always or top priority,” commented Prince George County Administrator Percy Ashcraft.  “We have decided to follow the strong statement made by the Virginia High School League (VHSL) which voted 34-1 to cancel all fall sports.”

            Parks & Recreation sports programs affected this fall are football and soccer.  Ashcraft said it is a major risk for the exposure of the coronavirus to have players coming into constant contact on the playing field.  With positive cases of the coronavirus climbing each day in Prince George County, Ashcraft said it is in the best interest of the kids and their families for these programs not to be offered at this time.

            Ashcraft said County officials will continue to monitor the pandemic carefully and make a decision on winter and spring sports at the appropriate time.

            Anybody who has registered for a Fall sport will be entitled to a full refund.
