Blue Devil turned Tennessee Volunteer was second-round pick in 2020 NFL Draft
A Hopewell football alum completed every athlete’s dream Tuesday, putting pen to paper on a multi-million dollar deal.
Former Blue Devil Darrell Taylor signed his first professional contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday. The deal is worth a total of $6.7 million dollars over four years, according to reports, with a signing bonus in the neighborhood of $2.5 million.
Taylor took to twitter to express his pleasure over the deal.
A 6-4 267-pound defensive end from the University of Tennessee, Taylor was the 48th overall pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, a second-round selection. His senior season as a Volunteer, he finished with 10 tackles for loss and 8.5 sacks.
Taylor graduated from Hopewell in 2015, where he finished as a second-team all-state selection in his senior year.
