For the first time in recent memory, Prince George is ranked in The Times-Dispatch top 10 football poll.
The Royals (3-1) are 10th after beating then-No. 7 Dinwiddie 27-24 in overtime last week. The last time Prince George won more than five games in a season was 1998, when it went 6-4.
Prince George has beaten Douglas Freeman and J.R. Tucker. It lost to Churchland.
The Royals meet Matoaca (3-1) this week in a battle of teams trying to make the crowded Class 5, Region B playoff field.
Henrico (3-2) moves back in the poll at No. 9 after beating then-No. 9 Patrick Henry 14-7. The Warriors were ranked sixth after a 2-0 start, then dropped out of the poll after losing to No. 5 Deep Run and No. 4 Hopewell.
