Snap/EBT at the Market

The Prince George Farmers Market accepts the SNAP/EBT card. Below is some information on the program.

How It Works

Visit the Farmers Market table and ask for the Market Manager. The Market Manager will swipe your SNAP/EBT card and give you tokens that be worth $1.  Then shop using the token as cash.

One thing to note, the vendors can not give you change. If the items you purchase comes to $4.75, you will not get the .25 cents back.

What Can Be Purchased

• produce
• meat
• fish
• bread
• seeds and plants for growing food
• honey
  

What Cannot be Purchased

• pet food
• cut flowers
• non-food items
• prepared foods

SNAP Match Incentives
The Farmers Market offers SNAP match incentives through a grant with Virginia Fresh Match.  SNAP match can be used for only fresh fruits and vegetables.
